New Zealand cricket have been one of the unluckiest team in the history of ICC World Cup events. They came close to winning the ICC ODI World Cup in 2015 and 2019, losing in final, and then lost to India in semi-final in 2023. They also lost in semi-finals of the 2007, 2016 and 2022 semi-finals and lost the final in 2021.
