Uganda national cricket team will get their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 campaign underway on 4th June against one of the fastest rising team in the shortest format, Afghanistan cricket team in their respective opening match at the Guyana Cricket Stadium in Guyana.
Uganda qualified for the tournament through the African Qualifiers. This is their first ever appearance in the T20 World Cup history. In the regional final round, Uganda pipped Zimbabwe to finish 2nd in the African Qualifiers behind Namibia to qualify for the tournament. Riazat Ali Shah
26-years-old right-hand batter Riazat Ali Shah will be responsible for giving middle-order solidity to this Uganda squad. Riazat is a Pakistani born cricketer who plays international cricket for Uganda. Riazat Ali Shah has played 57 T20I matches in his career and has scored 1212 runs with an average of 34.63 and strike rate of 129.9.
Dinesh Nakrani
Dinesh Nakrani is a Saurashtra, India born cricketer. The 32-years-old plays for the Uganda cricket team. He made his debut in 2019 for Uganda and has so played 55 matches and has scored 880 runs with a strike rate of 132.13 and average of 31.43. He has also taken 67 wickets in his career with his left-arm medium pace bowling.
Alpesh Ramjani
Alpesh Ramjani is going to another key player for the Uganda cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2024. The left-hand batter has played 39 matches since his debut in 2022. The 29-years-old has scored 542 runs with an average of 24.64 and strike rate of 133.83. The slow left-arm orthodox bowler has also bagged 69 wickets in his career so far.
