In a historic moment during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a promising young cricketer, made history by becoming the youngest player to score a T20 century. The 14-year-old achieved this feat while playing for the Rajasthan Royals against the Gujarat Titans at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Suryavanshi’s century was scored off just 35 balls, making it the fastest century by an Indian player in IPL history, surpassing Yusuf Pathan’s previous record of a 37-ball century. His innings featured an impressive 11 sixes and seven boundaries, culminating in a score of 101 off 38 balls, with a remarkable strike rate of 265.78. Although he did not reach Chris Gayle’s record, who holds the fastest IPL century at 30 balls, Suryavanshi’s performance remains significant.

This achievement also saw him break multiple records. He eclipsed Manish Pandey as the youngest centurion in IPL history and surpassed Vijay Zol’s global T20 record for the youngest centurion. Before this remarkable century, Suryavanshi was already known as the youngest half-centurion in IPL.

Purchased for INR 1.1 crore during the IPL mega auction in Jeddah, Suryavanshi’s inclusion in the team has proven to be a wise investment for the Rajasthan Royals. His extraordinary performance is expected to inspire many young players and significantly impact the team’s success this season.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s outstanding performance in the IPL 2025 has not only secured his place in cricket history but has also set a high benchmark for future players. As his career progresses, cricket enthusiasts will undoubtedly watch his journey with great enthusiasm and expectation.
