Video: Alzarri Joseph Argues and Leaves the Ground After Heated Argument With Captain Shai Hope

The duo of Brandon King and Keacy Carty led the West Indies to a solid victory over England in the third ODI, with both scoring centuries in a 209-run stand that set up an eight-wicket win on Wednesday, sealing a 2-1 series triumph. Meanwhile, an unusual moment unfolded when Alzarri Joseph, the West Indies pacer, walked off the field in protest against his captain Shai Hope’s field placements.
England managed to post a competitive total despite a poor start, thanks to half-centuries from Phil Salt and Dan Mousley on a challenging pitch with variable bounce.
After losing the toss, Salt scored 74, forging two valuable partnerships. Jamie Overton added a quick 32 off 21, and Jofra Archer contributed an unbeaten 38 from 17, helping England score 100 runs in the final 10 overs.
Alzarri Joseph argues with captain and leave the ground
Meanwhile, West Indies’ Alzarri Joseph and captain Shai Hope had a prolonged argument, and the umpires had to intervene to resume play. Joseph’s frustration reached a peak when, after a ball was played on the off side, he expressed his anger visibly to Hope and, after completing the over, left the field momentarily. West Indies coach Daren Sammy later approached the boundary to help diffuse the tension. Watch the video below.

An eventful start to the game for Alzarri Joseph! 😬
Chasing a target of 264 runs to win the match and the series, West Indies were solid with the bat as they scored 267 runs in 43 overs. Brendon King and Keacy Carty scored individual milestone while taking West Indies to a 2-1 series win.
Carty reached his maiden century off 97 balls, surpassing his previous best score of 88 in ODIs, and remained unbeaten on 128. King, who recorded his third ODI century, made 102 from 113 balls but fell shortly before the win was secured.
Earlier, West Indies’ bowlers, particularly Joseph, gave the Caribbean a lightning start, reducing England to 24-4 at the end of the power play. Joseph was especially fierce, dismissing Jordan Cox with a sharp 148 kph delivery that rose sharply, forcing Cox to edge it to the keeper.
Salt reached his fifth ODI fifty in 79 balls, eventually scoring 74 before being dismissed by Matthew Forde after a superb team catch by King and Joseph. West Indies’ 22-years-old all-rounder Matthew Forde was named the Player of the Series for taking 8 wickets in the series, most by any player of the two teams.
