Dinesh Karthik and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) faced a disappointing end to their IPL 2024 campaign, losing to Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator in Ahmedabad on Wednesday night. This might mark the conclusion of former India wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik’s IPL career, as the veteran wicketkeeper-batter had hibeforeor to the season that this could be his final stint in the T20 league.

RCB had a rocky start but managed to recover and secure a spot in the playoffs. Despite the ups and downs, Karthik’s performance as the designated finisher was a standout, accumulating 326 runs in 15 matches. His contributions were crucial, even though the team fell short in the knockout stage.

While an official retirement announcement is yet to come from Karthik or RCB, his emotional dressing room speech after RCB’s playoff-clinching victory against CSK hinted at his impending retirement from the IPL.
