Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Mohammed Siraj revealed it was very emotional for him to move on from RCB. Siraj played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru from 2017 to 2024. However, in the IPL 2025 auction, RCB released Siraj, and he will play for the Gujarat Titans. GT signed Siraj for 12.25 CR in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Ahead of the IPL 2025, Siraj talks about how helpful Virat Kohli was to him in his hard times.

As per ANI reports, Mohammed Siraj revealed how helped him during his bad times. He also said that his performance improved a lot due to his help, although remembering Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he said that it was very difficult for him to be away from the franchise.

“To be honest, Virat Kohli has had a huge hand in my career. He backed me in my bad times in 2018 and 2019. Virat supported me, and he even retained me, and after that, my performance and graph went up. He has been very supportive. It has been very emotional for me to leave RCB,” Siraj said. 

Currently, Mohammed Siraj is doing training with his new franchise, Gujarat Titans. In warm-up games, he performs brilliantly well. About the new franchise, Siraj says he is enjoying time with new teammates and is very happy to be here with the Gujarat Titans.

Mohammed Siraj’s Reaction to Not Being Selected for Champions Trophy 2025

Siraj also responded to not being selected for the CT 2025. He said I have taken the most wickets with the old ball in the past year among the world’s 10 fastest bowlers. My economy rate is also low. The numbers speak for themselves. I have performed well with both the new and old bowls.

Moreover, Mohammed Siraj’s new franchise, Gujarat Titans, will begin their IPL 2025 campaign on 25th March against Punjab Kings at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Although, GT had a bad last season and finished eighth in the points table in IPL 2024. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face the defending champion, Kolkata Knight Riders, in the opening match of IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on March 22, 2025.
