The star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli took a dig at sports broadcasters during an interaction with RCB Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit. This moment took place on March 15, Saturday as Virat Kohli urged the broadcaster to focus on only covering sports not on what his favourite place to eat.

Without any doubt, the Indian stalwart Virat Kohli is one among the popular stars in India, especially in cricket. Apart from his cricket career, fans and broadcasters are interested to know about his personal life which is also a part of the media.

However, speaking at the RCB Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit, Virat Kohli wasn’t pleased with the broadcasters question, asking where his favourite place to eat chole bhature in Delhi.

As we all know, while Virat Kohli often gave quick replies, the 36-year-old did the same as he stated that the show needs to talk only about the game and not about their favourite food or place.

“We have the vision. We have the groundwork happening today. It should be a collective responsibility of everyone involved. It’s not just about the infrastructure or the people who infuse the money. It’s also about the people who watch,” Virat Kohli was quoted as saying by Sportstar.

“We need education. A broadcast show needs to talk about the game and not what I ate yesterday for lunch or my favourite chole bhature place in Delhi. You can’t have that in cricket matches. Rather, you could talk about what an athlete is going through,” Virat Kohli added.

“It is very difficult to explain to people how grounding it is to come back to your family every time you have something intense happening on the outside. I don’t think people have an understanding of what value it brings.”

“I feel quite disappointed about that. People who have no control over what is going on are kind of brought into conversations and put out in the forefront. Maybe they need to be kept away,” the 36-year-old said.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli will be turning out for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2025 season opener vs the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 22nd March, 2025.

Virat Kohli was reportedly offered the opportunity to lead RCB once again as regular captain Faf du Plessis is no longer a part of the team. However, the same responsibility has now been bestowed upon Rajat Patidar, who will be leading RCB for the first time starting from IPL 2025.
