Virat Kohli faced a scary finger injury during the 14th match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Virat appears to suffer a serious finger injury to his right hand while fielding in the second inning of the match. The incident happened in the 12th over of the second inning of the match when Krunal Pandya bowled to Sai Sudharsan.

Sai attempted a powerful sweep off a quicker delivery, sending the ball towards deep mid-wicket. Virat is down on his knees, clutching his right hand. The ball bounced in front of Virat and skidded across, hitting his finger before reaching the fence. Immediately after the impact, Virat dropped to his knees, visibly in pain. The RCB talisman looked distressed and reportedly called out for help. Medical staff rushed into the field as Kohli appeared unable to continue.

Virat Kohli had a string blow to his hand, but the good thing is that he remained on the field. After the usage of the magic spray, Kohli is still on the field and looks alright. Nevertheless, these kinds of injuries can take a bit of time to aggravate, and the next 12-24 hours will be crucial for the RCB star. Kohli may also have to undergo some tests if there is swelling, but if there isn’t, he will be alright to feature in the next match for the Bengaluru outfit.

Virat Kohli’s team’s performance in the match against the Gujarat Titans 

Gujarat Titans won the toss and opened the ball first in this match. Gujarat’s bowlers proved the captain’s decision right, proving that Bangalore’s top order played badly. Virat Kohli got out cheaply after scoring just 7 runs. However, the middle-order batsman of RCB took control of the match and helped the team reach a good total. Liam Livingstone scored a brilliant half-century and scored 54 runs in 40 balls. Jitesh Sharma and Tim David also played well. RCB scored 169 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the first innings. Former RCB fast bowler Mohammad Siraj performed outstandingly and took two wickets in the match. In reply, Josh Butler played an excellent innings. He scored 73 runs in just 39 balls. Moreover, Sai Sudharsan also played very well but missed the half-century by one run. Gujarat won the match by 8 wickets. This was Royal Challengers Bangalore’s first defeat in IPL 2025. Now, RCB is in third place in the points table of IPL 2025 with two wins, while Gujarat Titans is in fourth place with two wins in three games.
