Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain and star batter Virat Kohli has taken an indirect hit at the likes of Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni with IPL Trophy Remark during the IPL 2025 season.

In the previous 17 seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL), MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma have been the two most successful captains in the IPL history, both winning 5 trophies. However, the third of the trio, Virat Kohli is still Trophyless and is no longer the captain of the side.

However, among all three, Virat Kohli probably has the best fanbase around the world and he has been with the team since the inaugural season in 2008. The crazy is unreal with Virat Kohli fans found in majority across all IPL venues.

Recently, the former India captain did an interview with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) media where he talked about his loyalty for the franchise and vice-versa.

During the interview, Virat Kohli clearly indicated with strong words that loyalty, relationship, mutual respect, and the love of millions is more valuable for him than the IPL Trophy.

“For me, what’s more valuable is the relationship and the mutual respect that has been created over so many years. The love that I’ve received from the fans, I don’t think any silverware or any trophy can come close to that,” said Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli top scorer for RCB in IPL 2025

Meanwhile, although not the captain of the franchise, Virat Kohli has been leading the side from the front. The star batter has played several match winning knocks as he has scored 443 runs in 10 innings in the IPL 2025 season.

RCB meanwhile has been fighting for a top 2 finish in the IPL 2025. The Royals Challengers take on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a crucial encounter today, Saturday, May 2 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

RCB currently have 14 points from 7 wins and 3 losses in the 10 matches they have played so far. Meanwhile, a win tonight would help RCB leapfrog to the top of the IPL 2025 points table with a win over a struggling CSK.
