Virat Kohli’s Injury Update: Assurance from RCB Head Coach

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) head coach Andy Flower has provided an important update about Virat Kohli’s condition following his finger injury during the IPL 2025 match against Gujarat Titans.
During the match, Virat Kohli injured his finger while attempting to stop a boundary in the 12th over of Gujarat Titans’ chase. This incident raised concerns among fans about his availability for upcoming matches. Kohli received immediate attention from the RCB physio on the field and subsequently walked off, leading to further speculations.
RCB’s head coach, Andy Flower, has calmed these worries by assuring that Virat Kohli is fine despite the injury. “Virat looks fine, he’s okay, there’s no worry,” Flower stated, alleviating fears about Kohli’s participation in future games.
The match in question also saw a standout performance by Mohammed Siraj, whose bowling figures of 3-19 significantly impacted RCB. Siraj, who was previously released by RCB after a seven-year stint, displayed disciplined bowling with tight lines and lengths that consistently threatened the stumps.
Despite losing the toss under conditions affected by the dew factor, Andy Flower acknowledged the better performance of the Gujarat Titans on the day. However, the team managed to post a score of 169/8, where contributions came from Liam Livingstone with 54 runs, Jitesh Sharma with 33 runs, and Tim David contributing 32 runs. The aggressive approach during the powerplay, as noted by Flower, led to the loss of wickets but highlighted the efforts of the key players.
Looking forward, RCB, captained by Rajat Patidar, is set to face Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on April 7, as they aim to recover and build momentum in the tournament with Virat Kohli expected to continue his participation.
