Watch: Dewald Brevis leaves everyone stunned with that brilliant boundary catch against PBKS 

On Wednesday, 30th April, Chennai Super Kings are taking on Punjab Kings in the 49th match of the IPL 2025 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. In this match, Punjab won the toss and decided to bowl first. Although Punjab won the game, there were many special points in this match, including Sam Curran’s brilliant innings and Yuzvendra Chahal’s hat-trick. Also, Dewald Brevis’ brilliant catch near the boundary at mid-wicket. In the 18th over of Punjab’s innings, Shashank Singh hit a pull shot on mid-wicket on the ball of Jadeja, which was caught brilliantly by Brevis in three attempts. The audience was astonished to see this amazing catch. This catch will definitely be among the top three catches of IPL 2025.

Dewald Bravis’ performance in the match against the Punjab Kings 

Just like his first match of IPL 2025, Dewald Brevis also performed well in this match. When Chennai had lost three wickets under 50 runs, Brevis made a good partnership of 78 runs with Sam Curran in that poor situation. Both of them together handled the Chennai innings and also scored runs speedily. However, Azmatullah Omarzai dismissed Brevis after he scored 32 runs in 26 balls. He also hit 2 fours and a six in this inning. 

Even after Brevis’s dismissal, Sam Curran kept Chennai’s innings under control from one end. He scored 88 runs off 47 balls and helped Chennai reach a decent total of 190. Although at one time it seemed that CSK would easily score more than 200 runs. But they lost their last six wickets in just 11 balls.

And credit goes to the Punjab Kings‘ bowling for a brilliant performance. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled best for Punjab, taking four wickets, including a hat-trick in the 19th over of CSK’s innings. Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen also took two wickets each with the ball. In the end, the Punjab Kings won this thriller match, thanks to the excellent innings of 72 runs by skipper Shreyas Iyer.
