In a really strange incident in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Mumbai Indians (MI), former MI batter Ishan Kishan, playing for SRH, walked-off without getting out.

In today’s IPL 2025 match, the Sunrisers Hyderabad is hosting the 5 times champions Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. It was MI captain Hardik Pandya who won the toss and opted to field first.

Although the SRH batters survived the first over, Trent Boult got the wicket of Travis Head in the 2nd over. Then former Mumbai Indians batter Ishan Kishan came on at number 3 for SRH.

But calamity happened for him on the first ball of the 3rd over when Ishan Kishan departed back to the pavilion. However what unfolded after the ball was totally bizzare.

It was a ball down the leg side which many believe to be wide as the keeper batter Ryan Rickelton carried on with his business, but interestingly, Ishan Kishan started to walk back and the umpire had his fingers-up partially, after which the MI players started appealing as Ishan continued walking back.

After he had already gone back to the pavilion, replays showed that the ball didn’t make any contact with Ishan’s bat. After this, fans on social media have started claiming that it was a fixing incident.

SRH Collapse in Powerplay

Meanwhile, in a hugely important match for them, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) suffered a batting order collapse in the powerplay, losing 4 wickets in the first 6 overs of the game.

First it was Travis Head who was dismissed in the 2nd over by Trent Boult. That was followed by the wickets of Ishan Kishan in the 3rd over, Abhishek Sharma in the 4th over and then finally the wicket of Nitish Kumar Reddy in the 5th over, 4 wickets in 4 overs in a row.
