Mumbai Indians win by 12 runs
Meanwhile, it is in-fact the Mumbai Indians who have walked out victorious in this match. Despite the valiant efforts of Karun Nair and Abhishek Porel at the top, 89 and 33 runs respectively, no other Delhi Capitals batters could many much of an inroad.
KL Rahul who was hero for the side in the last few matches, was dismissed after 15 runs while the likes of Axar Patel, Tristan Stubbs, Jake Fraser-McGurk all were fairly disappointing.
Hat-trick of run out
Despite all of that, the crucial 89 runs inning from Karun Nair had already put Delhi Capitals on the front foot. But, they lost the match after a hat-trick of run out in the 19th over.
The back-to-back run out of Ashutosh Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohit Sharma off the 19th over bowled by Jasprit Bumrah saw Delhi Capitals lose by 12 wickets from a very comfortable position at once. With that, Delhi Capitals is no longer an undefeated outfit in the IPL 2025 season.
