Watch: Jitesh Sharma throws his helmet in front of Avesh Khan after winning the match for RCB

Stand-in Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain and wicketkeeper batter Jitesh Sharma pulled-off iconic Avesh Khan helmet throw celebration in-front of the LSG bowler after guiding RCB to victory in Lucknow.
Jitesh Sharma played one of the most memorable knock of the IPL 2025 season for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their last league phase match, dragging them out of trouble and helped to finish in top two in the points table.
Jitesh Sharma came to bat when the side was struggling in the middle overs. But the stand-in RCB skipper scored 85 runs off 33 balls that eventually helped RCB chase 228 runs in with still 8 balls to spare.
After guiding his side to an emphatic win, Jitesh Sharma roared like a Lion and threw his helmet to the ground, recreating Avesh Khan’s iconic celebration from few year back.
For the unversed, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer also threw his helmet while celebrating LSG’s win over RCB in IPL 2023 season. Avesh received criticism for his behaviour and Jitesh Sharma undoubtedly gave him a fitting reply as he did the celebration right in-front of Avesh.
In the match, Jitesh won the toss and asked Lucknow to bat first. Despite losing the wicket of debutant Matthew Breetzke early, LSG captain Rishabh Pant, who promoted himself to number 3, played out of all the troubles he has faced in the IPL 2025 season.
The LSG captain remained unbeaten on 118 runs off 61 balls and formed a spectacular 152-run partnership for the 2nd wicket with Mitchell Marsh. LSG scored 227 runs in 20 overs.
RCB got off to a flying start in reply to the total as the opening duo of Phil Salt and Virat Kohli scored 50 runs in 4 overs. However, RCB lost 3 wickets between 6th and 8th over. Former captain, who tried his best, also departed in the 12th over, putting LSG in front in this match.
Then came the gigantic knock from captain Jitesh Sharma. The wicketkeeper batter scored 85 runs off 33 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes at a strike rate of 257.58. He was supported well by Mayank Agarwal, who scored 41 runs off 23 balls as RCB won with 8 balls to spare.
This win booked their place in the qualifier 1 of the IPL 2025 playoffs. They will face the Punjab Kings in the Q1 and will have two opportunities to make it to the final as a result of finishing in top two.
