Jos Buttler lone warrior for England
Since the first over of the match, England has been on the backfoot. Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh troubled the openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett, getting both the wickets in his first 2 overs.
Even though Harry Brook tried to form a partnership with captain Jos Buttler, Varun Chakravarthy’s magical 2nd over brought 2 wickets in the same over which eventually put England further into backfoot.
Jos Buttler continued to sit on one end while the batters were getting out on regular intervals. Eventually, Buttler decided to take on the Indian bowlers but eventually Buttler lost his wicket to a fantastic catch from Nitish Kumar Reddy. Buttler scored 68 runs off 44 balls.
England all-out for 132 runs
Meanwhile, England has been all-out after scoring 132 runs. Captain Jos Buttler was the only bright spark in England’s inning with the England captain scoring 68 runs for 44 balls. It was India captain Suryakumar Yadav who won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Varun Chakravarthy took 3 wickets for India while the trio of Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya all took 2 wickets each. India needs 133 to win the 1st T20I and take a 1-0 lead in the 5 match series.
