A tale for the ages was scripted at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad where we got a throwback to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final match where Australian batsman Travis Head took a wonderful catch to dismiss India captain Rohit Sharma.

The catch by Head to dismiss India captain still haunts many Indian cricket fans which eventually ended what was a promising start for India captain in that World Cup 2023 final. Later, Travis Head scored a match winning century to help Australia lift the Trophy.

We witnessed something similar tonight at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and interestingly Travis Head was involved in this too. But the roles were reversed. It was this time Travis Head who was dismissed with a similar catch to Head’s catch in the World Cup 2023 final.

In the IPL 2025 match between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat’s Rashid Khan pulled-off a similar backward running catch as Travis Head to dismiss the SRH batter. Watch the video below.

GT set 225 runs target vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans once again displayed a great performance in this match. The top 3 has been firing all guns in the IPL 2025 season.

Captain Shubman Gill played an extraordinary inning of 76 runs off 38 balls that included 10 fours and 2 sixes. His opening partner Sai Sudharsan scored 48 runs off 23 balls while Jos Buttler scored 64 runs off 37 balls.

As expected, the Gujarat Titans middle-order batters couldn’t deliver as much as the top 3 trio. But eventually the Titans scored 224 runs in 20 overs, setting Sunrisers Hyderabad a target of 225 runs to stay alive in the IPL 2025 playoffs race.
