Five-time Indian Premier League title winners Mumbai Indians (MI) are back to their best, climbing to the top of the table with a thrilling 100-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday.

MI are peaking at the correct moment, with their best players, such as Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Trent Boult, and Jasprit Bumrah, glimpsing their greatness, which contributed to creating the franchise’s legacy as the most-feared one in the IPL, is certainly not an indication in the right direction for the other teams, particularly the ones looking to add another title to their name finally.

The ex-Mumbai Indians captain has a large fan base, which has grown in recent years after leading Team India to success in the 2024 T20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy earlier this year. As a result, MI’s matches have drawn a large crowd at each venue this year.

On Thursday, May 1, a ballboy was spotted trying to touch Mumbai Indians (MI) star opener Rohit Sharma’s foot at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur following their IPL 2025 victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

In a video shared on the social networking site X, the ball boy approaches Sharma and shakes his hand before trying to grasp his feet. However, Rohit stopped him from touching his feet.

Rohit Sharma’s Performance in the MI vs RR Match

Rohit Sharma was in great form in recent matches, as in the last match against the Rajasthan Royals. Rohit scored 53 runs in just 36 balls with a strike rate of 147 while hitting nine boundaries. Rohit and completed a hundred-run opening partnership in this match, which gave them a great boost to score 200+ runs.

MI has been exceptionally good in defending 200-run or more targets, and bowling teams should allow them to surpass this level at their own risk. MI has won all 17 times when it has handed a team a total of more than 200 runs to chase.

Will MI keep this winning momentum and peak even higher? Can the Blue and Gold players and fans dream this year after four years without a title? Only time will tell.
