India faced an uphill battle in their second innings, managing only 157 runs, but stand-in captain Virat Kohli brought his never ending energy to the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday in an attempt to lift the team’s spirits.

When Steve Smith was dismissed, leaving Australia at 59/3 in the 10th over, Kohli turned to the crowd with some pointed gestures. Emptying his pockets as he referenced the infamous sandpaper scandal involving Australian players.

Kohli did not only stop there as he further went to check under his tracks as he tried to mock the hostile Australian crowd on day 3’s bit of cricket action at the SCG. Watch the video below.

India vs Australia 5th Test

Meanwhile, Team India looks to face another defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-2025.

Despite starting the series with a commanding win in Perth, Team India lost the matches in Adelaide, the Day-Night Pink Ball Test match and the 4th Test in Melbourne. Now Australia is cruising towards a victory in the 5th Test in Sydney as well.

Despite getting bowled out for 185 runs in the first inning, a scintillating bowling and team effort from Indian team managed to take a 4 runs lead as they bowled out Australia for 181 runs in reply.

However, in their 2nd inning, Team India adopted an approach many did not like. In their 2nd inning, every Indian batters came on to the pitch displayed an aggressive intent, trying to score runs, but in doing so, they got out cheaply.

The only significant contributor for Team India in the 2nd inning was wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant. Pant is known for playing aggresive and unorthodox cricket in the red ball format as he raced away to 61 runs off just 33 balls.

However, no other batter could make any further significant contributions as Team India were bowled out for 157 runs in the early hours of day 3. As of writing this, although Australia have lost 4 wickets, the look in cruise control with 130 runs on the board.
