Indian left-hand opening batter Abhishek Sharma played an extraordinary inning of 141 runs off 55 balls in Sunrisers Hyderabad match vs Punjab Kings. But more than his century, it is his celebration after reaching the milestone that is making all the headline on social media.
Sunrisers Hyderabad had the dounting task for chasing 246 runs against Punjab Kings in Hyderabad and they needed a perfect start from opening duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. And what better start than the duo adding 171 runs in 12.2 overs for the first wicket.
Travis Head was dismissed after scoring 66 runs off 37 balls. But Abhishek Sharma continued his onslaught and went to complete his century in the 12.6 overs. It was an absolutely much needed inning from the Indian youngster who had failed to perform upto the expected levels. But it is his celebration after the century that is making all the headlines.
Celebrating reaching the milestone, Abhishek Sharma pulled out a note that he showed to all the crowd in attendance. The writing on the note was, “This One is for Orange Army,” dedicating his milestone to the SRH fans.

The celebration means a lot to the Indian left-hand opening batter. After a record breaking season last year where he scored 484 runs at a strike rate of 204, but it wasn’t the perfect start to the season and many started doubting him.
Prior to his 141 runs inning tonight in Hyderabad, Abhishek Sharma had scored only 51 runs before in first 5 matches where Sunrisers Hyderabad also struggled to get results. But his inning today proved that form is temporary, class is permanent.

Captain Shreyas Iyer’s 82 runs inning off 36 balls and a brief cameo from Marcus Stoinis down the order helped Punjab Kings post 245 runs on the board.
But the game was taken away from the clutches of Punjab by the Sunrisers Hyderabad opening duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. The duo added 171 runs for the opening wicket after Head departed after scoring 66 runs. But Abhishek Sharma continued his assualt as he smashed 141 runs off 55 balls at a strike rate of 256.36. Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan saw out the victory for SRH, who won by 8 wickets in 18.3 overs.
