The match number 2 of the 3rd season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2025 will be played between the two finalists of the inaugural season in 2023. It will be the Mumbai Indians (MI) Women taking on the Delhi Capitals (DC) Women in the match 2 of the WPL 2025.

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 season kicked-off to a grand occasion when the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Women successfully chased down 202 runs target set by the Gujarat Giants at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

A great batting effort from the duo of Beth Mooney and Ashleigh Gardner helped the Gujarat Giants to post 201 runs on the board. Mooney scored 56 runs while Gardner played an astonishing inning scoring 79 runs. When it all looked like well and good for the Giants, there was more to come.

Despite RCB losing two quick wickets, Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh played scintillating knock to keep the Bengaluru side in the game. Perry scored 57 runs before she was dismissed. Ghosh was joined a rampaging as RCB completed highest successful chase in WPL history chasing 202 runs target. Richa Ghosh scored 64 runs off 27 balls while Ahuja scored 30 off 13 balls.

MIW vs DCW WPL 2025 Match Preview

The match number 2 of the WPL 2025 season will be played between the inaugural season’s champions Mumbai Indians (MI) Women’s team and the runners-up that occasion, the Delhi Capitals (DC) Women. The match will be played on 15th February, 2025 at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara from 7:30 P.M Indian Standard Time (IST).

Last season, the Mumbai Indians team once again qualified for the playoffs but lost in the Eliminator match to the eventual champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). As for the Delhi Capitals, they made 2nd straight WPL final but were once again on the losing end, this time against RCB.

Last season, both the teams played 2 matches and both sides shared a win each. The head-to-head rivalry has been close between the two teams who share rivalry from the inaugural season. After 5 matches played between the two teams, MI Women have won 3 matches while DC Women have won 2 matches. Watch out for the rivalry to continue in WPL 2025.
