The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have already confirmed their place in the IPL 2025 playoffs and will take on the Lucknow Super Giants with a top-two finish possible. But before the match, RCB received a big setback as Tim David suffered a hamstring injury in the last match.

It was during the RCB vs SRH match that when the Australian hard-hitting batter Tim David tried to stop a boundary, running towards the ball, which pulled the hamstring. Although David came to bat, he didn’t look comfortable and got out after scoring just 1 run in 5 balls.

According to reports, Tim David is likely to miss as many as RCB’s last league stage match vs LSG if he is not medically cleared. He is expected to make a return in the playoffs. So, without an important player like David, how would RCB set-up their playing XI. Let’s take a look.

Who will be Tim David Replacement for RCB?

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have the perfect replacement for Tim David in the form of English all-rounder Liam Livingstone.

This hasn’t been the kind of season that the RCB fans and management would have expected from Liam Livingstone. Other than his 54 runs off 40 balls in an inning vs. the Gujarat Titans, Livingstone has produced a string of bad performance.

The English all-rounder has scored only 87 runs in 6 innings and was eventually dropped from the playing XI for Romario Shepherd. However, Liam is still a quality player, especially against pace bowling. He can bat at a high strike rate and score quick runs in the bottom end of the inning.

Other than that, Liam is quite a handy spin bowler, which might be helpful at a venue like the Ekana Cricket Stadium, where the spin bowlers have tasted success at the venue historically.

Who will replace Lungi Ngidi ?

Other than Tim David, RCB has another worry as pace bowler Lungi Ngidi has left the RCB camp to join the South Africa team to prepare for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) Final vs Australia.

However, the good news is that Australian pace bowler and the side’s leading wicket-taker Josh Hazlewood has joined the RCB team before this match after recovering from an injury back at home in Australia.

RCB Probable Playing XI vs LSG

Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar (C), Jitesh Sharma, Liam Livingstone, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, Josh Hazlewood, Suyash Sharma.

Impact Player: Swastik Chikara.
