Friday thriller in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season will be played between the hosts Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the team that won the title they were here last year, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from 7:30 P.M Indian Standard Time (IST).

Ahead of this match, the Chennai Super Kings received a big blow as their captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out for the season with MS Dhoni replacing him as the captain. CSK have not performed well this season in the IPL 2025. Despite winning the first match of the season vs Mumbai Indians, CSK have gone on to lose their next 4 matches and it is now a must win match for the hosts.

As for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the Knights lost their previous match vs the Lucknow Super Giants from a winning position. They have played 5 matches and have lost 3 matches in total and won only 2 matches. The defending champions would be hoping that Chennai, the place where they won the title last season, brings them some goodluck. But before this match-up, we take a look at who can be most run scorer in this match.

Devon Conway

Devon Conway made his return from an Injury in the match against Delhi Capitals and he was CSK’s best batter on the night in their match against the Punjab Kings. Conway scored 69 runs off 49 balls vs Punjab but unfortunately CSK lost the match. He has a great record at the venue having scored 404 runs in 9 matches.

Rahul Tripathi

Rahul Tripathi use to open the inning for the Chennai Super Kings in the first 3 matches of the season, but he failed to deliver and was dropped. But now that Ruturaj Gaikwad is injured, Rahul Tripathi could get to place at this favourite number 3 position. He also has a great record vs KKR having scored 392 runs in 13 matches. He could be a difference maker in this match-up.

Venkatesh Iyer

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Venkatesh Iyer struggled in the early few matches, but he has performing well in the last 2 matches. He scored 60 runs vs SRH and 45 runs vs LSG. He would be playing a key role in the middle-order for the KKR side who have the tendency of batting collapse of powerplay struggles.

Rinku Singh

Now Rinku Singh has also faced similar sort of fate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Rinku also struggled in the early few matches of the season, but has been in great form in the last 2 matches. Rinku scored 32 runs vs SRH and 38 runs vs LSG in the previous 2 matches. He also has a good record vs CSK having scored 145 runs in 6 matches and has played match winning knocks in Chennai.
