The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season today sees two very in-form Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) take on the undefeated Delhi Capitals (DC) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The match will be played from 7:30 P.M Indian Standard Time (IST).

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have got off a much improved start this season compare to last year when they lost 7 of the first 8 matches. This season though, they have started off with 3 wins and 1 loss so far and they look to have a team that can challenge for the title.

As for their opponents Delhi Capitals, they are the only undefeated team in the IPL 2025 season. Having played 3 matches, they have won all of the matches to kick-off their campaign. Much like RCB, they also have a great team that can go on to challenge for the title. Before this RCB vs DC match-up, let us take a look at who could score most runs in this match.

Virat Kohli

Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Virat Kohli will once again have the spotlight on him when he takes to the crease at the Chinnaswamy tonight. The star batter has scored 164 runs in 4 matches but failed in the only match played here against Gujarat Titans as he was dismissed for 7 runs. But you cannot underestimate Virat Kohli at Chinnaswamy especially when he has scored over 3000 runs in nearly 90 IPL matches at the venue. Fans will be eager to watch him perform at home.

Devdutt Padikkal

Karnataka’s left-hand batter Devdutt Padikkal’s best IPL career performance came when he use to play for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Since then, he played for played for Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants and now he is back where it all started. But the start has not been great. In the first 3 matches, he was hugely a flop, except for his performance at the Wankhede in the previous match where he scored 37 runs. Devdutt has a great record at Chinnaswamy having scored over 500 runs in 15 domestic T20s. In the IPL, he yet to reach the heights.

Faf du Plessis

For the Delhi Capitals, former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis could be a key player. The Proteas batter is very well aware of the ground, the surface and the scoring areas. Faf has scored 651 runs in 17 innings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. He missed the previous match vs CSK and it is unsure whether he will be playing in this match. He has scored 79 runs in 2 matches this season for the Capitals.

KL Rahul

Another local boy who will be featuring in this match is KL Rahul, for the Delhi Capitals. KL Rahul is a Karnataka born batter who started his career with the RCB franchise in 2013. He played for SRH 2014 and 2015 and made a comeback to RCB in 2016. He then played for Punjab between 2017 and 2021 and then featured for the Lucknow Super Giants from 2022 till 2024. Now he turns out for the Delhi Capitals. Rahul has scored 382 runs at the Chinnaswamy, but he has been much improved and playing with different mindset, which could make him DC’s best batter in this match.
