Yashasvi Jaiswal Set to Leave Rajasthan Royals; Shares a Cryptic Post

Star Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has sparked quite the controversy on social media with his latest Instagram post after the Rajasthan Royals’ IPL 2025 campaign came to an end on May 20, beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Jaipur.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is regarded as one of the highly promising player and a future great of Indian cricket, likely hitting the heights of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma etc.
Jaiswal was the best batter for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 season. Despite a rough start, the India international left-hand opening batter eventually scored 559 runs in 14 innings with a strike rate of 159.71 and an average of 43.00.
However, he has caused quite the stir on social media after his latest Instagram post. After the IPL 2025 season ended for Rajasthan Royals, Jaiswal posted a thank you post on Instagram for the fans.
He wrote on his post, “Thank you, Rajasthan Royals, for everything. Not the season we hoped for, but continue to grateful for our journey together. Onto the next challenge (Indian flag) and whatever the future brings.”
The tone of the post and sentences used has the fans buzzing and speculating about Yashasvi Jaiswal leaving the Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2026 season.
There were lots of social media speculations that when the Rajasthan Royals decided to hand the captaincy to Riyan Parag in absence of Sanju Samson, Jaiswal was not happy with the decision.
Interestingly, batter suddenly decided to switch his allegiance to Goa from Mumbai in domestic cricket with an opportunity to lead the team. However, he took an u-turn later and decided to continue with Mumbai.
Throughout the IPL 2025 season, there were lots of speculations around the Rajasthan Royals team that both Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s relationship with the Royals management has deteriorated. Several reports in the last few days suggest that a key Royals batter is set to leave the Rajasthan Royals.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s development at Rajasthan Royals
After impressing in the 2020 U19 World Cup, Rajasthan Royals beat Kolkata Knight Riders in a bidding war to sign Jaiswal for 2.4 crore.
He didn’t have a great start to his IPL career as he struggled in the first 3 season, scoring 48, 249 and 258 runs in 2020, 2021 and 2022 IPL season respectively. However, Rajasthan Royals kept backing him, and finally, the batter had a boom season in 2023.
The youngster from Mumbai scored 625 runs in 14 innings with a strike rate of 163.61 and earned a place in the Indian team as a result. He carried that momentum in the IPL 2024 season as he scored 435 runs in 15 innings with a strike rate of 155.91. Beside, he established himself in the Indian Test and T20I team as well.
