Yuzvendra Chahal Complete a 19th Over Hat-Trick vs CSK

Pujab Kings’ leg-spin bowler Yuzvendra Chahal finally got some respite after what has been so far an awful day for the visitors. After going expensive in the first 2 overs, Chahal completed a 19th over hat-trick vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first on a dry surface which had help for the slow bowlers. Punjab did start well taking 3 wickets for 48 runs inside the powerplay.
However, Sam Curran and Dewald Brevis took control of the inning. Yuzvendra Chahal who was brought into the in the 7th over, conceded 7 runs in his first over but he was expensive in the 2nd over conceding 16 runs. He was then taken off the attack by captain Shreyas Iyer.
CSK continued their attack with the bowlers unable to get breakthroughs in the middle overs. Chahal was finally brought into the attack in the 19th over. Even after getting hit for a Six by MS Dhoni, Chahal made a comeback to dismiss the CSK captain on the 2nd ball.
Chahal then got the wicket of Deepak Hooda, Anshul Kamboj and Noor Ahmad to complete a hat-trick in the last 3 balls of the 19th over.
2nd IPL Career Hat-Trick for Yuzvendra Chahal
With his hat-trick tonight, it was his 2nd ever hat-trick in his IPL career for the all-time leading wicket-taker in the IPL history. Prior to his hat-trick today, Yuzvendra Chahal also has a hat-trick against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) while he was playing for the Rajasthan Royals.
It was the 30th match of the IPL 2022 season at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Chahal got the wickets of his current Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Mavi and Pat Cummins in the 17th over. That eventually helped Rajasthan Royals to win the match by 7 runs while defending 217 runs.
