Zimbabwe Pace Bowler Set to Join RCB for IPL 2025

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has signed Zimbabwean pace bowler Blessing Muzarabani for the IPL 2025 playoffs stage, replacing the South African pacer Lungi Ngidi.
Just after they officially qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs last night i.e. May 18, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru have received a bad news as South African pace bowler Lungi Ngidi won’t be available for the team during the playoffs stage.
A week-long delay has put every team in a bit of trouble as major players are unable to continue for the rest of the season due to international commitments.
The South Africa pacer is set to join the South African team for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-2025 Final match against Australia set to start from 11 June with South Africa set to start preparations two weeks prior. Ngidi only one match this season and took 3 wickets vs CSK.
The South African will be replaced by another African pacer, Zimbabwean national team pacer Blessing Muzarabani, who will join the team from the side’s last match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 27. He will be earning 75 Lakh salary.
This will be the first time that the 28-year-old Zimbabwean pacer will be playing in the IPL. He has previously played 70 T20I matches for Zimbabwe and has taken 78 wickets at an economy rate of 7.02.
Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) got their place confirmed in the IPL 2025 playoffs last night on May 18 with the Gujarat Titans beating the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
RCB have so far accumulated 17 points from 12 games in which they won 8 matches and lost 3. Meanwhile, their first match after the IPL 2025 resumption vs the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was washed out due to incessant rain throughout the evening in Bangalore.
They still have 2 games remaining as part of the league phase in which they take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on May 23 and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on May 27, the last match of the IPL 2025 league phase.
