LSG vs GT Today IPL 2025 Match Prediction

Match Results

In Match 26 of IPL 2025, played at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow Super Giants snapped Gujarat Titans’ four-match winning run with an impressive six-wicket victory. Chasing 181, LSG reached the target in 19.3 overs, powered by brilliant knocks from Aiden Markram (58 off 31) and Nicholas Pooran (61 off 34). Ayush Badoni also chipped in with a crucial unbeaten 28 to finish the chase comfortably.

Earlier in the afternoon, GT posted a competitive total of 180/6 on the back of solid fifties from Skipper Shubman Gill (60 off 38) and Sai Sudharsan (56 off 37). However, LSG bowlers made a strong comeback in the second half of the innings, with Ravi Bishnoi and Shardul Thakur picking two wickets each and controlling the run flow. Despite GT’s early control, LSG turned the game around with their calculated and aggressive chase.

As It Happened

First Innings: Gujarat Titans 180-6 (20 Overs)

After being put in to bat, Gujarat Titans got off to a flying start thanks to a solid opening stand between Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. The duo added 97 runs, with Gill playing a classy knock of 60 and Sudharsan supporting well with a fluent 56. At 120/1 in 13 overs, GT looked set for a massive total. However, Shardul Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi pegged them back in the middle overs. Wickets fell at regular intervals, and despite some handy hits from Shahrukh Khan and Sherfane Rutherford towards the end, GT could only reach 180/6. The final few overs were controlled well by LSG bowlers, Shardul Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi, who took two wickets each and kept the scoring in check.

Second Innings: Lucknow Super Giants 183-5 (19.3)

Chasing 181, LSG had a surprising start as Captain Rishabh Pant who is out of form this season came to open the innings with Markram. But GT bowler Prasidh Krishna removed Pant before reaching 30 at just 21. Aiden Markram on other hand stepped up with a brilliant counterattacking knock of 58 off 31 balls. He, along with Nicholas Pooran, shifted the momentum, attacking GT’s spinners in the middle overs. Pooran, yet again became the backbone of LSG’s batting unit. He  played some outrageous strokes to keep the scoreboard ticking. After Markram’s dismissal, Ayush Badoni joined Pooran and ensured the chase remained on track. Pooran’s explosive 61 and Badoni’s composed finish took LSG home with three balls to spare, ending GT’s four-match winning streak in style.

Did We Get It Right?

Correct Prediction✅

We rightly highlighted Nicholas Pooran as a key game-changer for LSG, and he delivered with a match-winning knock that helped seal the chase.

We also pointed out that the Ekana pitch would assist spinners — both sides’ spinners had an impact, though LSG handled them better.

We had idea that Sai Kishore could be neutralized by LSG’s left-handers. He didn’t have a big impact in this match as only bowled wicketless 2 overs, 1.3 to be precise as he bowled last over where LSG won the match with three balls to spare.

 Misses❌

Our prediction of Gujarat Titans continuing their winning streak turned out to be incorrect, as LSG broke their momentum with a clinical chase.

We expected GT’s top 4 to dominate LSG’s bowling, but despite a good start, the middle and lower order couldn’t fully capitalize, and LSG’s bowlers bounced back well in the death overs.

The clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans turned out to be a high-quality contest, but it was the home side LSG who held their nerve to come out on top. Despite GT posting a decent total on a slow pitch, LSG’s calculated chase led by Pooran and Markram proved too strong. Our prediction backed Gujarat to continue their winning streak, but LSG’s composure and superior finishing turned the tables. With this win, Lucknow not only ended GT’s streak but also asserted themselves as serious contenders in the league.
