Shreevats Goswami, former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player has come up with a bold statement after a tragic incident at the tourist place, Pahalgam amid the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.

According to the reports from Times of India (TOI), it is acknowledged that around 28 people were killed in the terrorist attack and injured several others at South Kashmir’s Pahalgam.

The former Indian cricketer Shreevats Goswami has took to his official X (Twitter) handle, sharing his rage and frustration with a long post. “SAY NO TO CRICKET !!!! And this is what I say – you don’t play cricket with Pakistan. Not now. Not ever,” Shreevats Goswami wrote in his post.

Moreover, the former RCB cricketer also raged in those who used to say that ‘sport should rise above politics’ after The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the government refused to send the Indian players to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy tournament.

“When BCCI and or the government refused to send India to the Champions Trophy in Pakistan, some had the audacity to say, ‘Oh, but sport should rise above politics’, his statement read.

Requesting all India players to wear black armband, says Shreevats Goswami

Shreevats Goswami also shared a post requesting the Indian cricketers to wear a black armband in the ongoing Indian Premier League.

“Requesting all India players to wear a black armband this week atleast. In memory of the innocent lives lost in Kashmir. Play the game. But let the world watching know,” Shreevats Goswami wrote in his tweet..

“Cricket teachers millions across borders – this small gesture can spread awareness and show solidarity. It’s the least we can do. Thank you. #IPL #Kashmir,” he added.
