Eden Gardens
In a nail-biting finish at Eden Gardens, Kolkata Knight Riders clinched a narrow 1-run win over Rajasthan Royals. Batting first, KKR put up a competitive 206/4, thanks to a powerful unbeaten 57 from Andre Russell and a steady 44 by Angkrish Raghuvanshi, giving their side strong momentum.
Chasing 207, Rajasthan Royals looked out of the contest until skipper Riyan Parag launched a stunning counterattack, smashing 95 off just 45 balls. He also became the first player in IPL history to hit six sixes across two overs. However, despite his explosive knock, RR could only reach 205/8, falling just short as KKR’s bowlers held their nerve in the tense final overs.
Rajasthan Royals (Playing XI): Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Riyan Parag(c), Kunal Singh Rathore, Dhruv Jurel(wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Wanindu Hasaranga, Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana, Yudhvir Singh Charak, Akash Madhwal

First Innings: Kolkata Knight Riders 206/4 (20 Overs)
Kolkata Knight Riders chose to bat first and got off to a balanced start. Despite losing early wickets, Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a mature knock, holding one end with a fluent 44. The real damage came later, when Andre Russell turned up the heat with a destructive unbeaten 57 off just 25 balls. His late fireworks, combined with handy contributions from the middle order, powered KKR to a solid 206/4 in their 20 overs.
Second Innings: Rajasthan Royals 205/8 (20 Overs)
Rajasthan Royals’ chase began on a shaky note as they lost wickets at regular intervals. However, just when the game looked out of reach, skipper Riyan Parag took matters into his own hands. He unleashed an incredible assault, scoring a blistering 95 off 45 balls, including six sixes spread across two overs. Despite his heroics, the Royals fell short by just 1 run, finishing on 205/8, as KKR’s bowlers held their nerve in the final moments to steal a thrilling win.
Win Prediction: We expected Kolkata Knight Riders to win, and they did—though by the narrowest of margins.
KKR’s bowling depth: KKR’s bowling depth was highlighted, and they managed to defend the total despite a late scare.
RR’s inconsistency: We predicted that Rajasthan Royals’ inconsistency with the bat would cost them, and once again, it did—apart from Riyan Parag, the rest of the lineup failed to contribute meaningfully.
Andre Russell’s Innings: Our call that KKR had more match-winners, especially in the middle and lower order, proved accurate with Andre Russell’s game-changing innings.
Riyan Parag’s Innings: We didn’t foresee Riyan Parag playing one of the innings of the tournament and nearly pulling off a historic chase.
RR’s fighting spirit: Rajasthan Royals came much closer to winning than we expected, nearly pulling off an unlikely upset. We underestimated the fight RR would put up, especially considering their previous form and low playoff stakes.
The clash between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders turned out to be a thrilling contest that went right down to the wire. While KKR emerged victorious as predicted, the Royals showed unexpected resilience, led by a brilliant knock from Riyan Parag. The match served as a reminder that even teams out of playoff contention can pack a punch. KKR will be relieved to come out on top and will take confidence heading into the final leg of the league stage, while RR, despite the loss, can take heart from the fighting spirit they displayed.

M.Chinnaswamy Stadium
In a nail-biting contest at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a narrow 2-run win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK). RCB, batting first, posted a strong 213/5, with vital contributions from Virat Kohli (62 off 33) and Jacob Bethell (55 off 33). The finishing touches came from Romario Shepherd, who hammered a blistering 53* off just 14 balls in the final overs to lift RCB to an imposing total.
In response, CSK fought hard with Ayush Mhatre playing a heroic knock of 94, well supported by Ravindra Jadeja’s 77. The match went down to the wire, but Yash Dayal held his nerve in the last over, conceding just 3 runs and preventing CSK from chasing down the target, sealing a thrilling win for Bengaluru.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Playing XI): Jacob Bethell, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar(c), Jitesh Sharma(wk), Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Romario Shepherd, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Lungi Ngidi, Yash Dayal

First Innings: Royal Challengers Bengaluru 213/5 (20 Overs)
After being asked to bat first, RCB started strong with Virat Kohli playing a fluent knock of 62, providing early momentum. Jacob Bethell stabilized the middle overs, while Romario Shepherd exploded at the end with a blistering 53* off 14 balls. His death-over carnage powered RCB to a massive total of 218/5, setting a daunting challenge for CSK.
Second Innings: Chennai Super Kings 211/ 5 (20 Overs)
CSK’s chase got off to a shaky start as they lost key wickets early. However, Ayush Mhatre turned the tide with a breathtaking 94, keeping hopes alive. Unfortunately a brilliant delivery by Krunal Pandya sent him back to the dugout, leaving so close to his maiden century. Krunal also removed last match’s star Dewald Brevis for a golden duck. While wicket kept following from one end, Ravindra Jadeja tried to stabilise the innings with unbeaten 77, taking the game deep. But Yash Dayal held his nerve in the final over, giving away just 3 runs and securing a narrow 2-run win for RCB.
Win Prediction: We predicted a one-sided win in favour of RCB, and they did secure a thrilling victory, albeit by just 2 runs.
RCB’s strong batting lineup: Virat Kohli and the RCB batting unit delivered, with strong contributions from the top order and a game-changing knock by Romario Shepherd in the death overs.
CSK’s Never Ending Struggles: CSK’s overall struggles with the bat continued, especially from their top order—exactly as expected.
RCB’s bowling unit: RCB’s bowling attack, especially Yash Dayal and Hazlewood, made crucial contributions at key moments.
Brilliance of Ayush Mhatre: We didn’t see the brilliance of CSK’s Ayush Mhatre coming. His near match-winning 94 almost pulled off a historic chase.
Jadeja’s form: Ravindra Jadeja’s resilient 77 was also unexpected, considering his poor run this season. His knock nearly snatched the game away from RCB.
RCB’s middle order collapse: Tim David and Jitesh Sharma, who were expected to provide a strong finish for RCB, couldn’t capitalize in the death overs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru kept their playoff hopes alive with a narrow yet vital 2-run win over Chennai Super Kings. While the margin was closer than expected, RCB’s balanced performance with both bat and ball helped them edge past a spirited CSK fightback. Chennai, despite showing glimpses of resilience through Jadeja and Mhatre, remain anchored at the bottom of the table. The win not only boosts RCB’s momentum but also underlines CSK’s ongoing issues this season—lack of consistency and dependence on sporadic brilliance.

In the match 51 of IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans clinched a solid 38-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ahmedabad. Batting first, GT were off to a flying start with an 87-run stand between skipper Shubman Gill (76 off 38) and Sai Sudharsan (48 off 23). Their explosive partnership laid the foundation for a massive total of 224/6. Jos Buttler also chipped in with a handy contribution, keeping the momentum intact.
In the chase, SRH never quite found rhythm. Despite some resistance from the top order, they could only manage 186/6. Gujarat’s bowling unit, led by Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna, stayed sharp and restricted SRH effectively. With this win, GT climbed to second on the points table, while SRH’s path to the playoffs grew even steeper.
Gujarat Titans (Playing XI): Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill(c), Jos Buttler(w), Washington Sundar, Rahul Tewatia, Shahrukh Khan, Rashid Khan, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, Gerald Coetzee, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna

First Innings: Gujarat Titans 224/6 (20 Overs)
GT got off to a blistering start after being put in to bat. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan stitched together a commanding 87-run opening partnership in just 7.3 overs. Gill was in sublime touch, smashing 76 off 38 balls with effortless timing. Sudharsan supported well with a quick 48 off 23. Jos Buttler, at his destructive best, scored 64 off 37 balls. Despite a late mini-collapse, GT finished strong with 224/6 on the board—an above-par total on the Ahmedabad surface.
Second Innings: Sunrisers Hyderabad 186/6 (20 overs)
Chasing 225, SRH started cautiously and never truly got the required momentum. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma tried to steady the innings, but Head fell just as they looked settled. Abhishek on the other hand tried to keep the innings steady with his knock of 74. But he never got support from the other end. Ishan Kishan failed once again, and the middle-order crumbled under scoreboard pressure. Nitish Kumar Reddy’s late effort wasn’t enough as SRH could only reach 186/6. Gujarat’s bowlers—especially Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna—kept things tight and ensured SRH never threatened the target.
Win Prediction: We predicted that Gujarat, with balanced performances in both departments, would overpower SRH. Gujarat single handedly defeated Hyderabad.
GT’s Top order Brilliance: We rightly predicted that Gujarat Titans’ top-order would dominate. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan gave GT a dream start, and Jos Buttler took it forward just as expected.
Gujarat Titans Bowling Unit: Our call on GT’s bowling unit outclassing SRH proved accurate, with Sai Kishore and Siraj keeping the run rate in check and breaking key partnerships.
Buttlers Performance: We anticipated Jos Buttler would play a major role, and he contributed brilliant knock of 64 alongside of Gill and Sudharsan.
SRH’s Opening duo: While we expected Travis Head or Abhishek Sharma to struggle, they both got starts—though Abhishek served but Head couldn’t convert it into a big score.
Middle order fight back: SRH’s lower middle order, especially Nitish Kumar Reddy, put up a better fight than expected late in the innings.
Gujarat Titans once again showcased why they’re one of the most balanced and in-form teams of IPL 2025. With consistent performances from their top order and disciplined bowling, they comfortably brushed aside a struggling Sunrisers Hyderabad side. For SRH, it’s a season of missed opportunities and dwindling hopes, especially with their batting not living up to last year’s expectations. GT’s dominant win reaffirms their playoff credentials, while SRH now find themselves on the brink of elimination.

Mumbai Indians thrashed Rajasthan Royals by 100 runs in Jaipur to register their sixth straight win of the IPL 2025 season. Riding on explosive knocks from Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma, MI posted a huge total of 217/2.
Rajasthan Royals’ chase never took off as they crumbled for just 117. The returning Jasprit Bumrah and in-form Trent Boult led the charge with the ball, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed for a duck. The win pushes MI to the top of the points table, while RR are officially knocked out of the playoff race.

Top performers
First Innings: Mumbai Indians 217/2 (20 overs)
Mumbai Indians put up a massive total of 217 runs for the loss of just two wickets. Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma gave the team a flying start with a 116-run opening stand. Rickelton scored 61 off 38, while Rohit chipped in with 53 off 36 balls. After their departure, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya took charge, smashing an unbeaten 94-run partnership. Both finished on 48 not out from just 23 balls, pushing MI to a dominant position. Rajasthan’s bowlers had no answers, with only Theekshana and Parag managing a wicket each.
Second Innings: Rajasthan Royals 117/10 (16.1 overs)
Rajasthan Royals crumbled under pressure while chasing the mammoth target. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the star from the last match, was dismissed for a duck, setting the tone for a disappointing innings. The batting order collapsed quickly, and apart from a quick 30 from Jofra Archer, there was little resistance. Mumbai’s bowlers were clinical—Trent Boult and Karn Sharma took three wickets each, while Jasprit Bumrah claimed two. Royals were bundled out for just 117, losing the game by a massive 100 runs.
Win Prediction:. We accurately backed Mumbai Indians to win, and they delivered with a dominant performance.
MI’s Opening Pair: As predicted, Mumbai’s top order, especially Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma, continued their good form with the bat. Both scored crucial runs helping MI top the table.
Bumrah’s spell: Jasprit Bumrah proved to be a key figure once again, controlling the game with the ball and leading MI’s bowling attack effectively.
RR’s Batting collapse: We Underestimated Rajasthan Royals’ batting collapse – they failed to put up any fight against MI’s bowling unit. We expected RR to struggle overall, but we didn’t anticipate the extent of their collapse in the middle overs despite a decent start.
Yashasvi And Parag’s form: We gave credit to Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag for showing signs of form, but neither could convert their starts into a match-winning contribution in this fixture.
Young prodigies contribution: Expected Vaibhav Suryavanshi to contribute – he was dismissed for a golden duck.
MI bowlers stepping Up: Trent Boult’s form was expected to improve, but it was actually the other MI bowlers who stepped up more significantly in this match. It was brilliance by Karn Sharma that we didn’t see coming.
RR’s lost spark: Assumed RR’s recent spark against GT might continue – but it fizzled out completely.
Mumbai Indians extended their winning momentum with a comprehensive victory over Rajasthan Royals, underlining their resurgence in the IPL 2025. Their top-order fired with Rickelton and Rohit leading the way, while Bumrah’s brilliance with the ball sealed the deal. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals’ season continues to spiral downward, with another poor show with both bat and ball. With this win, MI not only climbed higher in the points table but also strengthened their claim for a playoff spot, while RR are now left to play only few matches.

MA Chidambaram Stadium
Punjab Kings (PBKS) pulled off a crucial four-wicket win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 49 of IPL 2025 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, knocking CSK out of playoff contention. Batting first, CSK put up 190 on the board, thanks largely to a blazing 88 from Sam Curran, who kept the scoreboard ticking with aggressive strokeplay. However, Yuzvendra Chahal turned the innings on its head with a sensational four-wicket over that included the first hat-trick of this season, cutting short CSK’s momentum and preventing them from crossing the 200-run mark.
In response, PBKS came out with purpose. Prabhsimran Singh gave them a steady start with a 36-ball 54, and skipper Shreyas Iyer played a captain’s knock, anchoring the chase with a fluent 72. Despite a few stumbles towards the end, PBKS held their nerve to chase down the target in 19.4 overs. The win bolstered Punjab’s chances of finishing in the top four, while CSK’s dismal season continues, leaving them at the bottom end of the table and officially out of the playoff race.

First Innings — Chennai Super Kings 190/10 (19.2 Overs)
Chennai Super Kings got off to a decent start, but their top-order couldn’t convert it into a solid platform. It was Sam Curran who stole the show with the bat, hammering a brilliant 88 off just 49 balls, hitting boundaries at will. Dewald Brevis gave company to Curran hitting 32 off 26 balls. However, Yuzvendra Chahal stunned the Chepauk crowd with a remarkable over where he took four wickets, including a hat-trick – the first of this IPL season. That single over completely derailed CSK’s momentum. From looking set for 210+, they collapsed to 190 all out in 19.5 overs.
Second Innings: Punjab Kings — 194/6 (19.4 Overs)
Punjab Kings began the chase strongly with Prabhsimran Singh playing a fluent knock of 54 off 36 balls, setting the tone early. Shreyas Iyer then took over the innings, controlling the chase with a composed and classy 72. Though CSK tried to fight back with a couple of late wickets, a brilliant catch by Brevis on the boundary but PBKS held their nerve. The middle-order chipped in just enough to ensure they got across the line with two balls to spare, clinching a four-wicket win and keeping their playoff hopes alive.
Win Prediction: We correctly backed Punjab Kings to win, and they delivered with a composed performance both with the bat and the ball.
CSK’s struggles with batting : Our assessment of CSK’s ongoing issues with their batting lineup, especially the openers and middle-order instability, was evident once again.
PBKS reliable Top order: We highlighted the form of PBKS’s top three—Prabhsimran Singh, Priyansh Arya, and Shreyas Iyer—all of whom contributed meaningfully to the total.
Yuzi’s hat-trick: While we mentioned Punjab’s bowling as a weak point in the season, it turned out to be their biggest strength in this match, especially Yuzvendra Chahal’s unexpected hat-trick.
Sam Currans innings: One major element we missed in our pre-match prediction was the explosive knock from Sam Curran for Chennai Super Kings. Promoted to bat at number three, Curran stunned everyone with a blazing 88 off just 47 balls, smashing nine boundaries and four sixes.
Punjab Kings continued their push for a playoff spot with a convincing win over a struggling Chennai Super Kings side. The match showcased the gulf in current form between the two teams, with Punjab’s top order delivering consistently and their bowlers stepping up when it mattered the most. CSK, on the other hand, remains plagued by batting inconsistencies and tactical confusion. With this defeat, Chennai is out from the playoffs race second year in a row. This has happened first time in the IPL history that CSK to not appear in top 4 for two consecutive years. They at stuck at bottom-place, while Punjab strengthens its case as a genuine contender for the top four.

Arun Jaitley Stadium
In Match 48 of IPL 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) revived their playoff hopes with a 14-run win over Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Batting first, KKR posted a competitive 204/9, thanks to a quick-fire 44 from young Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Despite Mitchell Starc picking up 3 wickets, KKR’s middle-order cameos helped them reach a strong total.
Delhi’s chase was promising at points, led by Faf du Plessis’ 62 and Axar Patel’s 43, but they couldn’t cross the line. Sunil Narine was the game-changer—his all-round show turned the match. He scored a vital 27 runs, picked up 3 key wickets, including that of Faf, Axar, and Stubbs, and also pulled off a sharp run-out of KL Rahul. With this win, KKR notched up their fourth victory of the season and kept their playoff chances alive.

First Innings – Kolkata Knight Riders 204/9 (20 Overs)
After being put into bat, KKR made the most of a good batting surface at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. They got off to a brisk start, with Angkrish Raghuvanshi anchoring the innings. Despite a few hiccups in the middle, Sunil Narine chipped in with a quick 27, and the lower middle order made valuable contributions to push the total past 200. KKR finished their innings at 204/9, giving their bowlers a strong score to defend. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for Delhi, but he lacked support from the rest of the attack.
Second Innings – Delhi Capitals 190/9 (20 Overs)
Chasing 205, DC never quite found momentum. KL Rahul’s early run-out disrupted the start, and regular wickets hurt their progress. While Abhishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs tried to stitch partnerships. Captain Axar Patel also played a fierce innings of 43 for 23 balls, but it was Vipraj Nigam’s explosive cameo of 38 off 19 balls that gave DC late hope. However, KKR’s spin duo—Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy—controlled the middle overs brilliantly. DC eventually ended at 190/9, falling short by 14 runs, as KKR’s bowlers closed the game out with calm and precision.
KKR to win: We correctly predicted a Kolkata Knight Riders victory.
KKR’s bowling dominance: As anticipated, the likes of Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine played pivotal roles in defending the total.
Delhi Capitals’ reliance on their top order: As forecasted, DC’s top three needed to fire, but once they didn’t, the chase got shaky. Only Faf du Plessis served to the expectations.
Vipraj Nigam’s innings: We did not account for Nigam’s incredible late assault with the bat, which brought DC back into the game and nearly pulled off a miracle.
KKR’s batting surge: While we noted KKR’s overall batting struggles, we didn’t expect them to post such a big total—helped by strong top-order partnerships and finishing touches.
Kolkata Knight Riders walked away with a well-earned victory over Delhi Capitals, reinforcing their bowling strength and keeping their playoff hopes flickering. While Delhi’s batting firepower has been their strength all season, they faltered at the top and couldn’t recover despite a thrilling late push from Vipraj Nigam. KKR’s calculated performance with both bat and ball proved decisive, showcasing the impact of an all-round team effort. Though we rightly backed KKR for the win, unexpected brilliance from DC’s lower order nearly flipped the script—making this contest one of the more entertaining clashes of IPL 2025.

Sawai Mansingh Stadium
In Match 47 of the 2025 Indian Premier League, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated the Gujarat Titans (GT) by an overwhelming eight wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The highlight of the night was a sensational performance by 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who stole the show with a breathtaking 101 off just 38 balls—featuring 11 sixes and 7 fours. His explosive knock became the second-fastest century in IPL history. Partnering with Yashasvi Jaiswal (70*), Suryavanshi stitched a 166-run stand that powered RR to chase down the massive target of 210 in just 15.5 overs.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans had posted a solid 209/4 on the board, riding on captain Shubman Gill’s fluent 84 and a composed fifty from Jos Buttler. Despite their strong batting and a superior head-to-head record against Rajasthan, GT’s bowlers had no answers to the young prodigy’s fireworks. This match not only handed RR a much-needed win but also showcased how even teams struggling in the lower half of the table can rewrite the script in the IPL—with a new star like Suryavanshi announcing his arrival in style.

First Innings — Gujarat Titans 209/4 (20 Overs)
Gujarat Titans were off to a steady start after being asked to bat first. Captain Shubman Gill anchored the innings with elegance, scoring a fluent 84 off 48 deliveries. Jos Buttler supported him well with a calculated unbeaten half-century. The Titans capitalized on RR’s inconsistent bowling, especially in the middle overs, as both batters punished anything loose. GT posted a challenging total of 209/4 in their 20 overs. RR’s bowling once again lacked bite, with no bowler able to apply sustained pressure or pick regular wickets.
Second Innings: Rajasthan Royals 212/2 (15.5 Overs)
What followed next stunned the home crowd and the entire cricketing fraternity. Rajasthan Royals promoted 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi to open alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, and the young sensation lit up Jaipur with a jaw-dropping performance. He reached his fifty in just 17 balls and never slowed down. GT’s experienced bowling attack—boasting Rashid Khan, Siraj and Ishant Sharma —had no response to his fearless stroke play. With 11 sixes and 7 boundaries, Suryavanshi brought up his century in just 38 balls, the second-fastest in IPL history. His partnership with Jaiswal (70* off 42) yielded 166 runs, and by the time Vaibhav was dismissed, the game had already swung firmly in RR’s favour. Skipper Riyan Parag finished things off, as Rajasthan chased down the 210-run target in just 15.5 overs, securing a record-breaking 8-wicket victory.
Gujarat Titans’ Strong Batting Core: We rightly predicted that Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan would be central to GT’s batting performance. Both looked in great touch and laid the platform.
Jaiswal being RR’s Strength: We had correctly said that Yashasvi Jaiswal was best batter for RR. Last few matches have been excellent for him and he made sure to continue the form against GT.
Win Prediction: we had backed Gujarat Titans to win, based on their stronger lineup, better form, and dominant head-to-head record. However, our prediction turned out to be incorrect, as Rajasthan Royals pulled off a stunning win, thanks to Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s historic innings and Yashasvi Jaiswal supporting it equally to chase down the massive total.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s historic innings : The 14-year-old sensation stunned everyone with a record-breaking century—becoming the youngest player in IPL history to score a century, and that too while chasing a 200+ total. His fearless stroke play and composure completely flipped the narrative of the game, overshadowing Gujarat’s strengths and dismantling one of the tournament’s best bowling attacks. No one could have predicted such a monumental performance from a debutant of his age, and his innings has instantly etched itself into IPL folklore. He made several records starting from becoming the second fastest century in IPL, Most sixes by an indian player in a single IPL innings, Fastest Century by an Indian in IPL — he has overtook Yusuf pathan who also scored it while playing for RR and he has became Youngest Centurion in Men’s T20 and IPL history.
RR’s Fightback with the Ball: While we mentioned RR’s bowlers were off-form, they pulled off a disciplined performance in the middle and death overs, keeping GT to a chaseable target.
GT’s Bowling Under Pressure: Contrary to our expectations, GT’s reliable bowling unit failed to contain Rajasthan’s batters in crunch moments, especially the finishing assault from Riyan Parag after the Suryavanshi run storm.
In a match that will be remembered for years, Rajasthan Royals pulled off a stunning win over Gujarat Titans, thanks to the incredible heroics of 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. His record-breaking century not only powered RR to the fastest-ever chase of a 200+ total in T20s but also brought new life into their IPL 2025 campaign. Gujarat, despite their strong start and solid total, were completely outclassed in the second innings. With this win RR are still safe for the Playoffs run but GT would need to resolve their bowling issues to jump back to top two again.

First Innings — Delhi Capitals 162/8(20 Overs)
Batting first after losing the toss, Delhi Capitals got off to a shaky start. Abhishek Porel fell early for 28 and Faf du Plessis’s slow innings of 22 for 26 balls, created pressure on the middle order. KL Rahul tried anchoring the innings. However, frequent wickets halted any momentum and despite Rahul’s composed 41 off 31 balls, Delhi struggled to maintain a high run rate.
Tristan Stubbs injected some life into the innings with a quickfire 34 off just 18 deliveries, hitting crucial boundaries towards the death overs. But disciplined spells from Josh Hazlewood (2/36) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/28) kept the scoring in check. Ultimately, DC managed only 162/8 in their 20 overs, a total that looked slightly below par considering the batting-friendly nature of the Delhi surface.
Second Innings — Royal Challengers Bengaluru 165/4 (18.3 Overs)
RCB’s chase began on a shaky note as they lost their opener Jacob Bethell , who was playing his first IPL match for 12. Amidst the early collapse, Virat Kohli showed remarkable composure on the other end, playing a gritty knock of 51 off 47 deliveries. He found a dependable ally in Krunal Pandya, who counterattacked with fluent strokeplay. Krunal’s sensational Unbeaten 73 off 47 balls swung the match firmly in RCB’s favour.
DC’s bowlers couldn’t control the leaking runs. Misfields, dropped catches and free hits costed them alot. If that wouldn’t be it, Skipper Axar made some questionable decisions like choosing Mukesh Kumar to bowl the 19th over and not Starc, which gave the win to RCB with ease. In the end, Tim David applied the finishing touches, smashing an unbeaten 19 off just 5 balls to complete the chase with 9 balls to spare.
Win prediction: Our prediction of RCB winning based on head-to-head advantage and recent form also turned out accurate.
RCB’s Bowling Attack: We expected RCB’s stronger bowling attack to outshine DC’s relatively inconsistent bowling, and that played out exactly as predicted.
Batting and Power Hitters: We highlighted the batting-friendly pitch helping RCB’s power-hitters — and true enough, despite early jitters, RCB’s deep batting line-up sealed the win.
Expectations from Mitchell Starc: We expected Mitchell Starc to have a bigger impact with the ball for DC, but he remained expensive without taking key wickets.
Close Contest: While we predicted a close contest, RCB’s chase turned easier than anticipated after the Kohli-Krunal partnership.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru continue to ride high, creating history with six consecutive away wins — a record-breaking feat in IPL history. Their balanced performance with both bat and ball highlights why they are one of the strong contenders for the IPL 2025 title.
For Delhi Capitals, this loss at home comes as a major blow. Despite the home advantage, their inconsistencies with both bat and ball were exposed against a disciplined RCB unit. As the league phase intensifies, DC will need to find answers quickly if they are to keep their playoff hopes alive, while RCB settles top on the table with both Orange and Purple cap, marching forward with confidence and momentum firmly on their side.
